The Sweet Mitten



Hi there! I’m Brooke – a baker, coffee enthusiast, peanut butter loving, twenty year old. Welcome to my story. As a young kid, I suffered from chronic illness, fatigue, head aches, and digestive issues. It wasn’t until age 11 that we found out the many food allergies and intolerances I have. When my senior year of high school approached, I was hit with another wave of health issues, which sent my into a spiral of trying to regain my health. After more doctors visits, I found out I had yet another food allergy, egg whites.
Although I was shocked, sad, and angry to hear this news, I somehow knew that I could still figure out how to eat well and eat food that I enjoy. This caused me to get busy in my kitchen (yet again) and learn how to bake vegan recipes that do not contain eggs.
I tell you this all to say that there is hope. Whether you are a mom of a child with allergies, or you yourself have food allergies, there is HOPE. You can still enjoy food, eat well, and keep your body feeling good. I hope my recipes and words of encouragement and experience help you know you are not alone in this.
Here I find myself, a few years later living in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. I love my home, I love my family, and many of my recipes are inspired by the people who are closest to me. I create recipes and food that can be shared and loved by all, including you.
